NGNA Members' Article Published

NGNA President-Elect Joanne Alderman, MSN, RN, BC, APRN, FNGNA and former Vice-President Nanci McLeskey, MCG, MDiv, RN-BC, FNGNA recently had their article, titled Why Be a Gerontological Nurse?, published in the National Student Nurses' Association's professional magazine, Imprint.

The article discusses the topic "Why work with older adults," potential career opportunities for nursing students and other important questions potential geriatric nurses may have but do not know who to ask.

Call for Leadership Nominations

NGNA is now accepting nominations for leaders to join in advancing the organization’s mission. NGNA Board Members are responsible for setting the organization’s direction, ensuring necessary resources, providing industry expertise and much more.

The future of NGNA is in your hands. Help steer the organization and the profession in the right direction by nominating yourself or a colleague to serve on the NGNA Board of Directors.

Nominations are being sought for the following NGNA offices:
  • Secretary
  • Director at Large (2 positions)
  • Nominating Committee (2 positions)
Headquarters must receive nominations no later than March 20, 2015, in order to be considered by the Nominating Committee. All current NGNA members are eligible to be nominated. Self-nominations are encouraged. Nomination does not guarantee that a person's name will appear on the final slate.
